How does the trial version differ from the regular version?
The trial version and regular version are identical. The software will run for 30-days in trial mode without requiring a registration code. Once the 30-day trial expires, you must purchase a registration code to continue using the product. Once you purchase a registration code, you do not need to re-install the software. Simply enter the registration code to continue using the software and all of your data will remain intact.

How do I install SplashClock?
You can download the installer from our download page. Unzip the SplashClock.zip file using WinZip or similar utility. Double-click SplashClock.prc to launch the Palm Install Tool, select the appropriate User, click OK and Done, then perform a HotSync to install SplashClock on your handheld. 

Windows XP Users: You need to manually drag the contents of the ZIP folder out of the ZIP folder before you can double-click to add it to the Palm Install Tool. If you double-click it inside the ZIP folder, you will get an error.

What is the current version of SplashClock and what has changed?
SplashClock 1.08 is the current version. For an overview of changes, see the release notes.

How do I update my software?
Simply download and run the latest SplashClock Installer found on the download page. It will update your existing software on your desktop and handheld. Your data will remain intact and you won't have to re-enter your registration code.

1. Tap the Home icon on your handheld to go to the Application launcher.
2. Tap the Menu icon that appears below the Home icon to the left of the Graffiti area to display the App Menu.
3. Select Delete from the App Menu.
4. Select SplashClock and tap Delete.

How much memory does SplashClock require on my handheld?
SplashClock requires 400k of free memory for the application.

I just purchased SplashClock and need a registration code. Where do I find it?
When you purchase the software online, an order confirmation email is immediately sent to you containing your registration code. The registration code will begin with the letters SCXU. Enter it exactly as it appears, and the trial software will be converted into a registered version.

SplashClock won't accept my registration code. Why not?
Make sure you are entering the correct registration code, and not your order number. The registration code should begin with the letters SCXU.

How much do upgrades cost?
Updates within a version (e.g., 2.0 to 2.1) are free to all registered users. Major upgrades (e.g., 2.0 to 3.0) are available at a substantial discount to registered users. If you purchase within 30-days of a major upgrade you will receive the upgrade for free.

Can I use SplashClock on multiple handhelds?
You may use SplashClock on multiple handhelds. The registration code is not tied to a specific device. The license is per user, so you may install it on all of the handhelds that you use.

SplashClock is displaying the wrong date/time. How do I correct this?
SplashClock displays the date/time set in the Palm Preferences. To adjust this,
go to the SplashClock Preferences, select the Format tab and click the Set Time button. This will launch the Palm Date & Time Preferences where you can set the correct date/time.

Does SplashClock support VFS external memory cards?
SplashClock supports storing images on external memory. But the application must be stored on internal memory in order for the slideshow auto-run feature to work.

SplashClock crashes when I attempt to enter a registration code. How do I resolve this?
There is a known conflict with Jot 1.2 that causes SplashClock to crash when entering a registration code. This bug is fixed in Jot 1.3, which can be obtained from CIC.

How can I get more images to display in SplashClock?
SplashClock comes with one sample image, but you may add other images to SplashClock. The easiest way is with another program such as SplashPhoto. The free 30 day trial will allow you to install as many images as you'd like, and they'll remain after the trial is expired. The installer is available at the SplashPhoto Download Page.

On a more technical note, SplashClock will read any .jpg file that is in one of these locations on the Card:

\DCIM
\Palm\Images
\Palm\Programs\SplashPhoto

SplashClock will also read SplashPhoto .pdb files on internal memory or the Card. You may install .jpg images to the card using the Palm Install Tool. Or you may install .jpg images to the card using SplashPhoto Desktop. You can use SplashPhoto Desktop free for 30 days, and install as many .jpg images as you'd like. (After the 30 days, the photos will remain on the card.)

If you're using device without a card, like a Palm IIIc, SplashClock will only be able to display SplashPhoto .pdb files, which are created using SplashPhoto Desktop. You can use the SplashPhoto Desktop 30-day free trial and install as many .pdb files as you'd like.
