The trial version and regular version are identical. The software
will run for 30-days in trial mode without requiring a registration code.
Once the 30-day trial expires, you must purchase a registration code to
continue using the product. Once you purchase a registration code, you
do not need to re-install the software. Simply enter the registration
code to continue using the software and all of your data will remain intact.
How do I install SplashPhoto?
You must download and run the SplashPhoto Installer on your desktop,
as follows:
- Go to the download page,
and click the Download button.
- When prompted with the "File Download" dialog
box, select "Save this program to disk" and save it in a
place you are sure to remember, like your Desktop.
- After the file has finished downloading, launch the
Installer from your desktop and follow the onscreen instructions.
- You will need to connect your device to complete the
installation.
- For further instructions on how to use the software,
double-click the User Guide that was installed on your desktop.
How do I delete SplashPhoto?
To delete SplashPhoto from your desktop:
- Open the Add/Remove Programs Control Panel.
- Select SplashPhoto and click Change/Remove.

How much memory does SplashPhoto require
on my device?
SplashPhoto requires 350k of free memory for the application
and about 25k per image.
How do I install the
localized version (French, German, Italian, or Spanish)?
You must uninstall any previous versions on your desktop in order to install
the new localized version because the new installer will automatically
detect that you've already installed the English version and assume that
you want to install the English version again.
In the Control Panel on your desktop computer, choose Add/Remove programs,
select the application you are updating and choose Remove.
You only need to remove the Desktop application (not the handheld).
After removal is complete, run the new installer and it will allow you
to select a language.
If you need to download the installer, download
it here.
I just purchased SplashPhoto and need a registration
code. Where do I find it?
When you purchase the software online, an order confirmation email
is immediately sent to you containing your registration code. The registration
code will begin with the letters SPXU or SWXU. Enter it exactly as it
appears, and the trial software will be converted into a registered version.
I installed SplashPhoto on a new desktop
and it's asking me for my registration code. Where can I find it?
If you installed SplashPhoto on a new handheld or desktop computer,
you can find your existing registration code on the old desktop, as follows:
Launch SplashPhoto Desktop on the old desktop, then click the About button.
Your registration code will be displayed in the dialog.
If the above doesn't work, contact
us and we'll respond with your registration code.
SplashPhoto won't accept my registration
code. Why not?
Make sure you are entering the correct registration code, and not
your order number. The registration code should begin with the letters
SPXU or SWXU.

Can I use SplashPhoto on multiple handheld and/or
desktops?
You may use SplashPhoto on multiple computers/handhelds. The
registration code is not tied to a specific device. The license is per
user, so you may install it on all of the computers/handhelds that you
use.
You may synchronize your handheld with multiple desktops (e.g., one at
work and one at home). You just need to install the desktop software on
both desktops. You may install the software by downloading and running
the latest installer found on the download
page.
You may install images to your handheld from multiple desktops using SplashPhoto
Desktop. No special setup is necessary.
The SplashPhoto Desktop window won't fit on my screen.
How can I fix this?
SplashPhoto Desktop requires a screen resolution of 1024x768 or greater.
If the resolution of your monitor is less than this, some of the SplashPhoto
Desktop window will be cut off. To fix this, you must adjust the resolution
of your monitor to 1024x768 or greater as follows:
- Right click on your Windows desktop and choose Properties.
- Click the settings tab.
- Change your screen resolution to 1024x768.
- Click OK.
Why aren't my images showing up after synchronizing
them to the phone?
Windows Mobile Smartphone 2002 users must manually refresh to see new
photos by selecting Refresh from the Tools menu on the handheld application.
I have lots of images on my card, but
SplashPhoto isn’t seeing them.
Make sure the images are .jpg images and they’re where SplashPhoto
can see them. SplashPhoto will search the following for images:
Internal Memory
\My Documents\SplashPhoto
\My Documents\My Pictures
\My Documents\My Photos
Card
\DCIM
\My Documents\SplashPhoto
\My Documents\My Photos
If your images are in other locations on your card, move them to one
of the locations above and SplashPhoto will see them.
Is SplashPhoto compatible with Windows Vista?
Yes, our Windows Mobile applications should work fine in Windows Vista,
but Active Sync has been replaced by the Windows Mobile Device Center
in Vista. You should not install Active Sync or use the Getting Started
CD that came with your device if it was released before Vista (1/31/07).
You may need to upate your Windows Mobile Device Center software before
you can install our applications:

How do I transfer my photos from SplashPhoto
for Palm to SplashPhoto for Windows Mobile?
The photos for SplashPhoto for Palm are stored here:
- C:\Program Files\Palm\<your user name>\SplashPhoto\
They are stored there in subfolders as simple JPG files. So you can
use the File Explorer to browse to this folder, then open the SplashPhoto
Desktop for Windows Mobile, and simply drag in the photos you wish
to import from the Palm OS version.
The reason you should do it this way is so that the images will be
recropped to properly fit your device. For this reason, it would really
be best to add the photos from the originals instead if you have them,
because your new device my have a higher resolution screen and the
cropped photos won't properly fill the space. The originals will be
resized and recropped appropriately.
