Upgrade Your Key Safe to version 6.2
Due to authentication changes and security enhancements, it is necessary
to upgrade your SplashID Key Safe application if you plan to synchronize
with the iPhone, iPad, Android, or BlackBerry editions. If you do not
synchronize with one of these editions, this update is not required.
Windows Version:
- Run your current version of SplashID from the Key Safe and export
a
backup vID folder of your data:
Application menu > Backup.
- Quit the SplashID application. Then delete it from the USB Key Safe drive.
- Download the updated files from here: SplashID Key Safe for
Windows
- Unzip the downloaded file to extract its contents.
- Drag the file(s) onto the Key Safe USB disk on your computer. When
prompted, choose to Replace (or Copy & Replace) the existing files.
- Run SplashID from the Key Safe and it should read in your existing
data. If if the new version does not automatically read in the old data for some reason, please import
the vID file from step 1.
Mac Version:
- Run your current version of SplashID from the Key Safe and export
a
backup vID folder of your data: File menu > Backup
- Quit the SplashID application. Then delete it from the USB Key Safe drive.
- Download the update installer from here: SplashID Key Safe for
Mac
- Double click the DMG to mount it.
- Double click the installer to run it.
- Click Continue, Continue, then click "Change Install Location."
- Select the the SplashID Key Safe USB drive on your computer.
- Click Install, then enter your system password.
- After a few minutes, the installation will complete. Click Close.
- Run SplashID Key Safe from the USB drive and it should read in your existing
data. If if the new version does not automatically read in the old data for some reason, please import
the vID file from step 1.
